BUILT ON TRADITION

The old seaport of Whitby has long a history of seafaring and boat builders which covers hundreds of years. It was here Captain Cook trained as a seaman, leading to his epic voyages of discovery. Cook chose Whitby built colliers for his famous voyages

In 1706 Whitby was the sixth most major port in Britain, building 130 ships that year and in Whitby large vessels continued to be built up to 1908.

Today Parkol Marine continues that long Whitby tradition of boat building and boat repairs.
